Elections
Following the publication of the Notices of Uncontested Election for Wem Rural Parish Council, we can confirm that councillors have been nominated to represent all three wards: Edstaston, Newtown, and Roden.
However, there are still two vacancies—one in Edstaston Ward and one in Roden Ward—which can be filled through co-option.
While co-option decisions can’t be made until the newly elected councillors officially take office on Tuesday 6th May 2025, we’re encouraging residents who are passionate about their local area to start thinking about getting involved.
If you’re interested in playing a part in your community, keep an eye on our website and noticeboards for details on how to express your interest in becoming a co-opted councillor after 6th May.
