As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our parish clean and beautiful, residents from Lowe and Newtown gathered for a fantastic community litter pick, helping to clear up the local environment. The event saw several volunteers come together, including members of the Parish Paths Partnership, to tackle the litter scattered across our area.
Over the course of the clean-up, we managed to collect several bags of rubbish, primarily made up of cans, coffee cups, and water bottles, items that often find their way into our streets and ditches. It was disheartening to see the volume of waste left behind, much of which could have easily been disposed of in one of the many litter bins provided throughout the parish.
We want to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to use the bins that are available for waste disposal, and to remind residents that throwing litter from cars into ditches is both harmful to the environment and unfair to those who care about the community. A little effort from all of us can go a long way in keeping our area clean.
A big thank you to all the volunteers who came out and helped during the clean-up. Your hard work and dedication to keeping our parish tidy is deeply appreciated. By working together, we can continue to make our parish a wonderful place to live and enjoy.
After the clean-up, everyone gathered at the Wem Town Hall to enjoy a well-earned breakfast bap and drink. It was a lovely way to come together, chat, and celebrate our collective efforts to improve our environment.
We encourage everyone to remain mindful of their litter and to make use of the bins provided. Your small efforts can have a big impact in keeping our parish looking its best. A huge thank you once again to all those who took part, and we look forward to seeing even more of you at future events as we continue to work together to keep our community clean and green!
