Wem Rural Parish Council is pleased to announce that we have recently donated 100 snap bands to Newtown Primary School to help ensure the safety of the children during the darker months. These snap bands, which are brightly reflective, will help make the children more visible when walking to and from school in the dark, enhancing their safety on the roads.

The donation was made with the wellbeing of the children in mind, recognising the importance of visibility in keeping them safe. Chair of the Parish Council, Cllr Huw Edwards, and Cllr Julia Goode had the privilege of attending a school assembly at Newtown Primary to present the snap bands to the children, along with Ms. Riley, a member of the teaching staff.

The donation has been well received by the school, and it is hoped that these snap bands will provide an added layer of security for children as they make their way to and from school each day.

We are proud to support the local community and will continue to look for opportunities to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents.
